A Blast from the Past

I flew in from Balt/DC and I was not disappointed. I did not know if Stephanie Mills could stand with the ultimate alto Gladys and the ultimate soprano Patti but she was actually a little better tonight. She gave an enthusiatic powerful performance and her male backgrounds singers gave individual solos that blew the roof off the Wintrust arena. Gladys was next and with her still intact strong, soulful, soothing voice she took us back and forth on an awesome memorable journey of all her hits. Her timing was perfect, she looked good and had a lot of energy for someone 77. Through most of her songs she gave uplifting praise to the man upstairs. I need to see Gladys again before she goes to Europe. Then Patti came on. Her performance was not the stunning, speechless performances I have seen before but she still was decent. I think she senses her mortality like Gladys and her singers also gave praise to the man upstairs. She indicated this was her 31th concert since Sept of last year. I can see she is a hardworking lady but may have scheduled too many dates this year. But she still has the voice and I will see her again at Mohegan Sun. All in all these 3 sistas are better than anything today.
